What to do for water or flood damaging.
1. Safety precautions:
- Don't panic. Many damage situations are not as severe as they may first appear.
- Wear rubber shoes and gloves when entering a damaged area.
- Make sure all electrical items are turned off and unplugged.
- Locate the source of the damage to secure the problem from increasing.
2. Caring for your belongings:
- Cover computers, printers and other electronics to protect from humidity.
- Move all equipment and boxes to dry areas.
- Carefully place unstained wood and/or cut plastic pads under furniture legs.
3. Who to call:
- A Dalton professional will immediately determine further action.
- Initiate a damage claim number with your insurance company.
